WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

We live half of our year at our home in Joshua Tree California, and the other half traveling the US in our 1974 airstream. During the late fall, winter, and spring we stick around the Southwest desert and in the summer and early fall we’re typically bouncing around the mountains following good weather.

Our travel schedule for the summer is usually based around the first few bookings we get (so book early with us for more location flexibility). All of our packages include travel fees.

WHAT DOES A couples SESSION ENTAIL?

Couples sessions can be for engagement photos, honeymoon photos, day-after sessions, anniversary photos, vow renewals, or just cause you wanna. We’ll help you plan a session that tells your story, including location suggestions, activities, and assistance with outfit planning. It can be as simple as a cozy morning in a cabin, or as adventurous as climbing a mountain. The photo session itself usually lasts about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Couples sessions can’t be used for an elopement (because your wedding day deserves a whole lot more than that) and we have other packages specifically for elopements!

I'M NOT SURE WHERE I WANT TO GET MARRIED, BUT I KNOW I WANT IT TO BE ADVENTUROUS. CAN YOU HELP ME FIND A LOCATION?

YES. This is one of our favorite parts of our job. We spend hours exploring hidden places, scouring google maps, and doing research on amazing and secluded spots. In fact, a lot of the couples we work with don't have a spot picked out yet when they reach out. Once you book with us, we're happy to share all the location information we have with you and help you pick a spot that's perfect for you + your story together.

We always encourage our couples to consider a place that might be special to them, as opposed to choosing the most popular or most epic places. A vast, open desert might mean more to you than a popular mountaintop overlook with lots of tourists standing around. We prefer to work in places that aren’t overrun with people or other photoshoots going on, because it keeps the experience more intimate for our couples. After all, you’re eloping so that you don’t have to say your vows in front of 200+ people, so why not choose a spot that’s a little more off the grid?

How much planning do you do? Should we still hire a wedding planner?

We are happy to help plan locations, help with the permit process, and recommend additional vendors. We can come up with timelines for the day and help you figure out logistic, and take care of anything pertaining to photography of course. However, we also think that the work planners do is so valuable and can truly add to the experience. If you’re wanting a few more stylistic elements (arches, installations, picnic, dinner) we would highly recommend bringing on a planner! We have several amazing people we can recommend, many of whom specialize in wild elopements in the outdoors.

What if I want to get married in a place you’ve never been? Can you still help me find a location?

YES. We are highly experienced travelers who are constantly planning our own travels to new places and new countries. We use resources like google earth, guidebooks, and do a ton of online research to help find a place perfectly suited for your adventurous day. We’re also part of a few worldwide networks of wedding vendors, so we can help find other amazing artists like hair & makeup, flowers, officiants, and any other vendors needed. We’ve planned tons of weddings from afar and are confident in our abilities to plan an elopement in a new place that’s just as amazing as a place we’ve shot lots of times before.

DO YOU TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY? WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?

Yes! We’ve shot in faraway lands such as Patagonia, Chile and Mendoza, Argentina as well as Morocco, Italy, Bolivia, and Switzerland. We have packages specifically for this kind of travel. All of our international packages are multi-day and include our travel fees, so we can capture a bit more of the journey than just the wedding day.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK YOU?

Because our travel schedule & pricing structure is constantly evolving, we generally don't book weddings & elopements more than 18 months out (with the exception of international destination weddings). We typically book stateside elopements anywhere from 2-12 months out. We like to leave room in our schedule for last minute elopements too, so even if you're planning to elope in the next few weeks, definitely reach out! We might have a space just for you.

WHAT'S IT LIKE TO WORK WITH YOU AS A HUSBAND & WIFE DUO?

As a team, we shoot together on wedding days & during sessions. Megan brings the direction & Nate brings the vibes. Both of us shoot photos, getting different angles artistic points of view, and capturing different moments that might be going on at the same time. Megan handles editing, social media, and she's usually who you'll talk to if you email. Nate does website work, handles taxes, and drives us all around. Megan is the face-to-face, Nate is the brains behind the operation. We have our system dialed in, so things are seamless on a wedding day.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO YOU USUALLY DELIVER?

This varies by session & time, but larger weddings range anywhere from 400-800 photos and elopements range from 200-400 photos. Couples sessions are typically around 100. We believe in quality over quantity and we aim to deliver the best of the best photos from your day.

DO YOU OFFER PRINTS & ALBUMS? DO WE HAVE TO PRINT THROUGH YOU?

We'll deliver your photos in an online gallery where you have the option to purchase professional quality prints, announcements, and frames through our partnered labs. We test our prints and colors to our labs’ printers to make sure your photos print accurately and beautifully. We also offer archival heirloom albums. You pick your favorite photos, we’ll design a layout for you. Feel free to email us for specifics on albums!

You also aren’t required to print through us if you have a local lab that you prefer! Personal printing rights are all yours.

DO YOU OFFER FULL-WEEKEND COVERAGE?

Yes. This is something we prioritize and want to be part of. When we got married, our photographer was with us the whole time – he roadtripped with us from Texas to California and spent the full weekend hanging out with us and our guests. Those photos of the road trip and events with our family the day prior to the wedding are some of my favorite memories. Because we are storytellers at heart, we want to tell the full deal – before & after and in-between and all. This type of coverage works well if you're camping out with your friends the night before, or traveling to a destination with all of your family, or backpacking to a spot for your adventure elopement. We want to capture it all.
