Sometimes you just need to ask someone some questions.
This work can often makes us feel siloed to our own offices, studios, cameras, and processes. It can be helpful just to bounce ideas off another person or to ask honest questions and receive real answers. I’ve been doing this for ten years and have experienced the highs and lows of building an independent business and I’m here to share what I’ve learned.
These sessions are good for questions about editing, portfolio presentation, business and creative practices, travel, film, as well as some of the more nuanced specifics about NDAs, contracts, and working with luxury planners.
Options for mentor sessions are 90 minutes for an in-depth conversation, or 2.5 hours for a full portfolio review. These sessions are typically done via video chat, but if you’re able to travel to Joshua Tree there’s an option to do our session in person.
Before we meet, I’ll have you share three (or more) questions or topics you’d like to focus on, so I can come fully prepared to make the most of our time together.

Cedar & Pines started with a single camera and lens while living on the road and traveling full time. Every part of my portfolio and business was built from the ground up, with a lot of mistakes and wins and big changes along the way.
I want to offer a genuine look into how this business was built and share what I’ve learned along the way, with the hope of helping you navigate your own path with honesty and intention.
