Capitol Reef National Park Engagement Session

Utah is full of hidden arches, funky rock formations, and endless corners of sandstone to explore. I'm so inspired every time we're there because of the vast, unique landscapes around every bend in the road. This time we got to explore a part of Utah we'd never been to before: Capitol Reef National Park.

We got to the park early to explore a few places we had in mind for our session with Trent & Stephanie, and when we hiked a few miles up to this spot, we knew this was it. The arch and the crazy pink and white landscape around it were like nothing I'd ever seen before.

About an hour before meeting Trent & Stephanie, I got an email from Trent saying he might propose during the session. Pretty sure I shrieked audibly with excitement upon reading that. We met Trent & Stephanie at a trailhead and hiked up for about an hour before getting to the spot where we'd start shooting. We cracked some beers at the top and waited for the light to soften while talking about the epic Utah road trip they were on to visit all the national parks in the state. When we saw the last tourist head down the trail, Trent & Stephanie hid behind some rocks and changed into the nicer clothes they packed.

We ran around the rock formations, taking photos and making bad jokes, when not long after we started shooting, Trent pulled out a handwritten letter and started reading some incredibly thoughtful words to Stephanie. He got on one knee and asked her to marry him. There were many hugs and kisses and smiles, and our job was pretty easy after that. We just watched as these two celebrated and cuddled and explored the crazy landscape together.

Congratulations again, Trent & Stephanie. I hope your marriage is as adventurous as your proposal!
