a note from Megan -

I love the ways that the elements contribute to the whole of a story - how fashion, design, and place all play a role in communicating meaning. My job is to look for and highlight these, to take a true portrait of a person by seeing what they see in the world around them.

I look for the ways that love shows itself in the small places and big moments, and especially in the passing glances and little displays of tenderness that happen naturally and truthfully when we aren’t looking for them. Weddings, and the events around them, are full of these.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel the across continents for this work and it never fails that I become a more honest version of myself with each wedding.

Cedar & Pines is a photography project I’ve been at for over a decade, focusing on weddings, travel, and real life love stories. I use a mix of film and digital cameras, some vintage, some brand new, all with the purpose of capturing images that feel true and alive.

Photography as an art form, not just documentation. This work is a collaboration between me, my couples, and their families. My approach is sincere and informed by a creative practice. I find that weddings contain silently profound moments of connection between people and places and traditions, and that this is where the magic of storytelling lives.
