Colorado Winter Elopement on Loveland Pass

There is truly nothing like standing in the snow above treeline in Colorado. Feeling the wind whip through your hair, the biting cold on your skin, and seeing mountaintops that go on for miles is a humbling experience all of its own. Add to that reading your vows at 12,000 ft and its difficult to not have an overwhelming emotional response. Charlie & Larissa strapped snow spikes on their hiking boots, threw a bottle of champagne in their daypack, and hiked up the ridge to an overlook above Loveland Pass, Colorado where they said their vows. It was equally beautiful and adventurous.

Moments like this are what make our work so worthwhile and thrilling. Nate and I are always taken aback by the fact that we do this as our job. Hiking up mountains with adventurous like-minded couples, getting to be there for one of the most important moments in their lives, capturing it all, and getting to sign their marriage licenses as witnesses--it feels like such a huge privilege, one we don't take lightly. When Charlie & Larissa reached out to us, Larissa mentioned that she had been following our work basically since we moved to Colorado and started our business here and had been dreaming of having us as their photographers since then. To say we felt humbled hearing that is a huge understatement.

Charlie & Larissa, I hope the rest of your lives together are as adventurous and beautiful as your elopement was.
