Banff National Park Engagement Photos

I have to first start with the fact that Banff National Park might be one of the most awe-inspiring places I've ever been. The peaks are so prominent and gnarly, all covered in glaciers that feed the bluest lakes I've ever seen. Nicole & Ryan originally reached out to us because they were planning to come to Colorado to have engagement photos done. After a few emails back and forth, Nicole asked if I would be willing to go to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada for an adventure session up there instead. Trying to keep my chill I said, of course. They bought my flight and we were set!

Typically when we do engagement sessions, we are meeting the couple for the first or second time in person. With Nicole & Ryan, I got to spend a couple of days with them and their family while they were on vacation, so I got to know them pretty well. We spent the day before the shoot scouting out locations, exploring Banff, and playing on rocks with their son Gage. The session flowed so seamlessly with these two because we had a few days to all get to know each other.

The whole time I was in Banff I just kept thinking about climbing and learning the mountaineering skills necessary to summit such steep peaks like the ones there. It was nice having a few days up there before the session to actually explore the landscape and get inspired. I can't wait to go back here for personal travel and take Nate with me and climb some of the huge mountains there.
