Outdoor Wedding in Crested Butte Colorado

An overcast and rainy day in June.

Typically you can count on sunny, warm weather in June in Colorado. The cloudy skies made for the softest, quietest drive as we made our way in to Crested Butte that morning.

Nate and I arrived early and hiked in the rain all through the hills surrounding the town. The raindrops sat on the Columbines & ferns in the aspen grove surrounding Wood’s Walk where Kathleen & Jonathan’s ceremony would be held. The trail there was decorated with varying shapes of geometric terrariums with tiny white rocks on the inside while raindrops graced the outside. It was still & beautiful.

We met Jonathan & Kathleen several months back at a brewery. We talked about work and life over beers, and Nate and I walked away that evening inspired by the lightness and humility these two carry with them. Their wedding reflected all of that just the same. It was simple, yet stunning. Small & intimate, yet warm & important. Kathleen & Jonathan curated their wedding day to represent the most special parts of their lives—their families, their love for food & wine, and their adventurous & lighthearted love for each other.

I could say a lot about Jonathan & Kathleen and how perfect their wedding day was, but I’ll leave you with these photos to tell the story.
