Dunton Hot Springs Wedding
If I had to choose one favorite thing that we shoot, it would be intimate weddings like this one. While I LOVE shooting elopements and weddings of all types, the weddings where its just the couple and their close tribe of immediate family and best friends have something particularly inspiring to them. There's something significant about saying your vows in front of the people who are going to support you in your marriage. I love capturing that.
Elizabeth & Tyler have traveled all over – including an extended period of time where they lived in their van (see their cake, its probably the cutest cake there ever was). They wanted their wedding to represent that period of their lives, while also honoring those who are closest to them in life. They chose to get married at what might be the most beautiful wedding venue in Colorado – Dunton Hot Springs – where they housed all of their guests, soaked in hot springs, hiked around the mountains, and ate the most incredible food all weekend. Dunton is a legendary place. Its an old ghost town that's been completely renovated. Set way back in the mountains several miles down a dirt road, it feels rustic & secluded, while also nodding to modern taste – the collection of contemporary photography & paintings hanging on the walls in the cabins made my art student heart so happy. The place is stunning in all aspects.
If there was ever a perfect way to have a wedding, this is it. Spending three days in the mountains with all of your close friends, no cell signal for miles, hiking trails (and did I mention the waterfall onsite?), hot springs, and amazing food – capturing all of it was a dream. Elizabeth & Tyler's wedding perfectly represented a feeling of complete presence, awareness, and sheer joy. I think that's how moments like this in life should be.
