Amber + Beau. Soulmates.

There’s no better way to have celebrated their elopement than the way these two did. A relaxed morning at their airbnb in the middle of the desert, a ceremony in the boulders nearby, and a mini road trip to watch sunset from the sand dunes. Amber wore a stunning beaded dress with the softest, most flowy veil (that transitioned into a cape) and made for magic in the breeze at the sand dunes. Their dog paid witness to their ceremony. Their families came along to support.

The desert is a welcoming place to make a big promise. The warm breezes, the big rocks. Something about it is grounding – while also being quite humbling. It’s this solid ground, this unchanging landscape, this ancient expanse that makes for the kind of stance one might need when promising to make a life with someone.

I could wax forever about my love for the desert. I could talk for hours about the light and shadows and textures that make for the most beautiful photos and the most incredible experiences in solitude…
