AMANGIRI RESORT –
This place is so unlike anywhere else we’ve been.
I’ve never seen a work of architecture that flows so seamlessly and is so complimentary to the landscape around it. The place is peaceful, quiet, grounding. It’s no wonder this luxurious-yet-understated resort in the Utah desert draws people in from all corners of the world.
Tak + Yukiko came in from Japan to spend their honeymoon on a road trip exploring the American Southwest. They went from San Francisco to Sedona, to Page, to one of the final stops on their trip, Amangiri. We met them here to capture portraits of them in their wedding attire.
The day we photographed them was a classic desert windstorm, the dust lifting off the ground into clouds in the distance. We stayed sheltered by the high concrete walls of the resort, cooling off on the occasional breeze that came through. Just being at this place is an experience of it’s own. Photographing it, and watching others revel in it too…well that’s a privilege all it’s own.
What a stunning place to celebrate getting married.
